Not to be missed is the traditional Christmas market, which is held during the festive season. In Chemnitz, which is situated in the vicinity of the beautiful Erzgebirge Mountains, world-famous "Räuchermännchen" (hand-carved smoking figures), pyramids and nutcrackers are part of a Christmas tradition that is still very much alive.
