The Office of Arts of the City of Kaiserslautern is organizing the 25th Christmas Crafts Market in the newly-renovated Fruchthalle of the City of Kaiserslautern.
This year, too, the charitable organizationsof our city, such as Terre des Hommes, Lebenshilfe für Geistigbehinderte e.V., Sengal-Hilfe-Verein e.V., UNICEF, Förderverein Fruchthalle Kaiserslautern e.V., Westpfalz-Werkstätten, Inner Wheel Club Kaiserslautern, Krankenhaus Ruanda e.V., St. Lukas Rehabilitation und Wohnheim für psychisch Kranke, Evangelische Studentengemeinde, Bolivien Hilfe e.V., Pfälzischer Verein für Straffälligenhilfe e.V., Eine-Welt-Laden and Neue Arbeit Westpfalz e.V. will offer for sale on the Christmas Crafts Market the articles which have been made with much care by hand in their workshops throughout the year. As every year, the proceeds will benefit a good cause, such as the construction of a hospital, a school or a workshop or other humanitarian facility.
Schools, such as the BBS II, the St. Franziskus Gymnasium, the Hans Zulliger School in Enkenbach, the Fritz Walter School and the Hauptschule Bännjerrück, will also bring the finest work of their artistic hobby lessons to the Christmas Crafts Market.

Also present for the first time will be Ilse Odening, goldsmith from Maxdorf, Hannah Tochtermann, jewellery designer from Speyer and Babette Egerland, qualified jewellery designer, born in Cologne and recently moved to Neustadt. The newest creations in gold and silver jewellery will also be presented by the Meisterschule für Kunsthandwerker Kaiserslautern. There are also participants in the area of textiles, glass, silhouette cut-outs, flower arrangement and pottery.

Workshops and readings will take place in the children's playroom, which is looked after from 2pm to 6pm by an experienced woman teacher. Short dance and music presentations are also planned as a framework programme in the area of the cafeteria. The programme will be laid out at all the usual places in November.
Students of the BBS II and honorary workers of Terre des Hommes, as well as of the Lebenshilfe für Geistigbehinderte e.V., promise a pleasant stay in our cafés with delicious home-made cakes in an atmosphere of Christmas decoration.

The Office of Arts places at visitors' disposal brochures, leaflets and other information on arts events from the region, as well as catalogues, books and CDs on the exhibitions in the Office of Arts at their own stand. The Christmas Crafts Market is open until 8pm on concert evenings.
