As usual, the traditional Christmas market in the centre of Potsdam promises to be a treat for people of all ages, with Christmas melodies, delicious aromas and a seemingly endless sea of Christmas lights creating the perfect yuletide atmosphere between the Brandenburg Gate and the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul. The town is bathed in a festive glow and beautifully adorned with fir trees and decorations. Plenty of gift ideas, tasty culinary treats and lots going on: carved wooden items, Nativity scenes, decorative candle arches, baubles, lebkuchen, toffee apples, glühwein and much more. Luisenplatz square has a Christmas pyramid and an ice-rink - a great favourite with children and anyone else wanting a bit of a whirl.
